RIS benefit concert
The diocese’s Refugee and Immigration Services of Hampton Roads is sponsoring a performance by Baile Rumba, the Latin Ballet of Virginia, on Saturday, July 19, at 7 p.m. at Christopher Newport University’s Ferguson Center for the Arts, Newport News. Tickets are available at the Ferguson Center Ticket Office, located in the lobby of the Music & Theatre Hall; by phone at 757–872–8100; or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
 Haiti Dinner
The 4th annual Haiti Dinner will be held at Resurrection Church, Moneta, on Saturday, August 9, immediately following the 5 p.m. Mass. Dinner will include traditional Haitian cuisine of diri ak pwa (beans and rice), poul (chicken), sos (sauce), salad, and punch. A Market will feature Haitian crafts. All proceeds from the dinner and market will benefit the 68 girls at the Foyer des Filles de Dieu orphanage in Port-au-Prince, Resurrection’s Haiti twin since 1989. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children and can be purchased in advance or at the door.
