Sister Maria Kolbe Rossi, a former member of St. Matthew parish in Virginia Beach, is one of 11 young women who recently made their perpetual profession as Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation in Nashville, Tenn. The simple vows were of poverty, chastity and obedience.

Sister Maria Kolbe, the daughter of John and Maria Rossi, also parishioners of St. Matthew’s, is a graduate of Rock Church Academy and attended Old Dominion University and Aquinas College where she received a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. She is now teaching at St. Joseph School in Cottleville, MO.

The Nashville Dominicans teach in 33 schools throughout the United States including St. Mary Star of the Sea School in Hampton and Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Newport News.
